This illegal program was brought to us by IPhA, specifically Mr. President. How illegal was it? Ah-Ha...Further questions please ask directly to Mr. President. No intermediary. I don't want to be his spoke person. There were 14 of us joining this programme with various intentions but mainly, it was about dined free at hotel. Sadly, we just ate at Zam-zam Corner, situated just opposite Satay Zul. Sound familiar right? :) Actually, the knowledge about saving and investing in order to achieve financial freedom should be the limelight here. In a nutshell, we gained a lot of knowledge regarding AKPK (what is it?), PIDM (whoa, too many short form huh?) and others.
Thus, these are some tips in getting started in finance.
- Financial planning is important to give you a better quality of life.
- It is essential for you to begin saving your money NOW. Eventhough you are still a student, please put aside 10% of your income. If you can't, 5% is good enough. The sooner you begin to save, the greater benefit you earn.
- You will earn more interest if your investment pays interest on a monthly instead of yearly compounded basis. Many savings account do this. Example: CIMB Islamic al-Mudharabah account and BIMB al-Mudharabah. As for example: When you saved RM10000 for 10 years at 5% per annum, you will get RM16,289. But, if the interest is monthly basis you will get RM16.401. (0.42% per month) Can you believe that?
p/s: It is not how much you earn; it is how you spend what you earn
